  7. When I open an account, how do I know my money is safe?

When you open an account at Stabile, we ask that you also open an account at our custodian, Charles Schwab. Charles Schwab is a registered brokerage firm with protection provided by the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC). SIPC protects investors’ securities and cash up to $500,000 ($250,000 for cash), similar to FDIC insurance for banks.

  8. I already have an investment account; can you manage an already established account?

Yes, if your account is already at Schwab all you need to do is authorize Stabile to access your account. If your account is not at Schwab you will need to open an account and transfer the funds.

  9. I have a retirement account (401(k), 403(b), etc.) with my employer; can you manage those funds as well?

We cannot directly manage accounts held with an external custodian. We can provide you with advisory services, and you would be responsible for implementing the recommendations in your account.

  10. When I grant Stabile access to my account at Schwab, do I lose all control?

No, you remain in complete control of your account while we manage your money. Your account is still held in your name. Stabile is only granted permission to act on your behalf as long as you allow us access.

  11. What is Stabile allowed to do on my behalf?

Your agreement with Stabile Investment Management gives us the ability to act in your best interest. This includes making trades, taking fees, and making limited withdrawals on your behalf. Each quarter, Stabile sends you a client report that can be used to validate transaction and money movement in your accounts.
