Investment Management

The Fundamentals

Our investment management services are built around one simple idea: your portfolio should reflect your values.

We begin with a clear understanding of your goals, risk tolerance, income needs, time horizon, and the circumstances that shape your financial life. From there, we work together to create an Investment Policy Statement (IPS) that serves as the guiding framework for how your portfolio is managed.

Your IPS outlines how your assets are allocated across stocks, bonds, cash, and other investments, including any preferences or restrictions you may have. This framework keeps decision-making disciplined and aligned with your long-term objectives, even as markets evolve.

We monitor portfolios on an ongoing basis and provide you with quarterly statements. While we are available to you at any time, we also like to meet with you in person at least once a year to confirm goals, discuss life changes, and update the Investment Policy Statement as needed.

How it Works

Our process follows five deliberate steps, designed to build a deep understanding of your needs while keeping everything clear and manageable.

  • We begin with a conversation. This is an opportunity for us to understand what is important to you, why you are seeking financial advice, and what concerns or goals are most top of mind. We will explain our process, answer your questions, and determine together whether our approach is the right fit for you.

  • Next, we take a deeper look at your full financial picture. We discuss your assets, liabilities, income needs, tax considerations, risk tolerance, time horizon, and long-term objectives. When appropriate, we coordinate with your accountant, attorney, or other trusted professionals to ensure that your investment strategy aligns with the broader financial framework already in place.

  • After careful analysis, we present a comprehensive investment plan tailored to your goals and circumstances. This includes asset allocation, risk considerations, and a clear explanation of how the strategy is designed to support your long-term objectives. We review everything together and make necessary refinements. We only move forward once you are comfortable with the plan and the advisory agreement has been signed.

  • Implementation is where planning becomes action. Investments are carefully selected and positioned to reflect your allocation targets, risk profile, and long-term objectives. This stage reflects the work we have done together, bringing your goals to life in a stable and balanced portfolio.

  • Investment management is an ongoing process. We monitor your portfolio daily, rebalance when needed, provide you with quarterly statements, and meet with you in person annually to discuss progress, life changes, and any necessary adjustments. Between scheduled meetings, we are available whenever questions arise.‍

Two Types of Investment Management

At Stabile we know that everyone has different preferences. That is why we offer both discretionary and non-discretionary investment management.

Discretionary Investment Management

Most clients choose discretionary investment management. This allows us to make day-to-day investment decisions on your behalf without needing your approval for every transaction. This approach allows portfolios to be managed efficiently and thoughtfully as market conditions evolve.

Clients may place specific restrictions on their accounts, such as excluding certain investments or retaining specific holdings. Any restrictions are clearly documented in the IPS.

Non-Discretionary Investment Management

For clients who prefer to remain directly involved in each investment decision, we offer non-discretionary investment management. The planning, analysis, and portfolio review process remains the same, but we consult with you and obtain your approval before executing a transaction.
